Supporting the personal and professional development of Women Chartered Secretaries.
For the past 90 years we have been supporting the personal and professional development of women chartered secretaries.
AWCS members have access to a lively programme of educational, social and networking events. Our exclusive mentoring scheme enables those who are new to our profession to draw on the knowledge of more experienced members.
The Committee organises events, at least monthly, ranging from technical, personal development and social events.
Section 166 and the rise of the Regulator
Section 166 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 (FSMA) gives the Regulator the power to require firms to provide reports by skilled persons as one of its regulatory tools.
Being issued a section 166 by the FCA/PRA is something which has taken place more frequently over the last few years.
The AWCS invite you to an event with Vaughan Edwards from Medius Consulting who will talk about the rise of the Regulator and its powers, as well as a practical overview of what steps should be taken if your company is issued with a section 166 notice.
This session would mostly benefit those in roles within financial services as well as those in professional services positions. If you would like more information about attending please email firstname.lastname@example.org
